Our Muzzle Policy

In an ideal world all dogs should be muzzled when out with a dog walker, however that is not always the case. Below is our 'Muzzle Policy',  it has been created not to excluded any breed from the pack but to keep everyone safe.

‘The Dangerous Dogs Act 1991’, states that all dogs must be controlled in public areas and must be muzzled if it poses a threat to anyone. Failure to comply with this act can result in fines, imprisonments, and/or destruction of the dog.

DogTrails WILL NOT take care of or walk any dog that falls under the ‘Dangerous Dog Act 1991’

Here is a list of dogs we will only take out if they are wearing the appropriate muzzle:

  • German Shepard
  • Rottweiler
  • Alaskan Malamute
  • Chow Chow
  • Bulldog (American, British Terrier)
  • Staffordshire Terrier
  • Doberman Pinscher
  • Mastiff
  • Siberian Husky
  • Boxer
  • Akita
  • Shar Pei

This list is here – not to exclude any dog from the company but – to protect our walkers and the public. Even if your dog is of a good and friendly nature.
